The President Reviewed the Ongoing Work in the Country’s Agricultural Sector
On March 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhalliev and the hyakims of the velayats, during which issues related to the country's agricultural sector and ongoing regional activities were discussed. The first report was delivered by the hyakim of Ahal Velayat, T. Nurmyradov, who provided information on the current seasonal agricultural activities in the region. As noted, thanks to the vast opportunities created by the President of Turkmenistan, seasonal work is actively continuing on the velayat’s agricultural lands. In particular, wheat fields are currently undergoing fertilization with mineral fertilizers and irrigation. At the same time, necessary preparations are underway for the organized start of the cotton sowing season. Additionally, areas planted with potatoes and vegetable crops are being maintained and irrigated in accordance with agronomic standards. As part of the ongoing efforts to transform the country into a flourishing garden, measures are being taken to ensure the well-organized implementation of the spring landscaping campaign and the nationwide tree-planting initiative. Reports were also presented on the preparations for the National Spring Holiday celebrations and the progress of construction projects for cultural, social, and industrial facilities scheduled for completion in the velayat this year. Summarizing the report, the head of state emphasized that strict adherence to agronomic norms during seasonal agricultural work contributes to achieving high yields and improving product quality, instructing the responsible officials to maintain control over this area. Additionally, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered that the quality and timely completion of various facilities planned for commissioning be ensured. Next, the hyakim of Balkan Velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region. As noted, in order to achieve a high harvest this year, wheat care is currently being carried out in accordance with agronomic standards. At the same time, preparations are underway for the organized and high-quality sowing of cotton. Seasonal agricultural activities continue on the velayat’s potato and vegetable fields. Moreover, measures are being taken to ensure the successful implementation of the spring landscaping campaign and the national tree-planting initiative. Information was also provided on preparations for cultural and mass events dedicated to the National Spring Holiday, widely celebrated in Turkmenistan, as well as the progress of construction projects planned for commissioning in the velayat as part of the country’s socio-economic development programs. After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the ongoing seasonal agricultural work and instructed the hyakim to ensure their high-level organization. The head of state also ordered that the implementation of planned activities in the region within the framework of the country’s socio-economic development programs be closely monitored. Then, the hyakim of Dashoguz Velayat, D. Babaev, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region. In line with the goals of further strengthening the country’s food security, agricultural activities are being carried out in compliance with agronomic norms. Land leveling has been completed on plots designated for cotton sowing, and land planning and irrigation are currently underway. At the same time, potato and onion planting continues in the velayat. Additionally, preparations are being made for the nationwide tree-planting initiative and the spring landscaping campaign. Reports also included information on preparations for the National Spring Holiday celebrations and the progress of construction projects set for commissioning this year. After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that proper execution of ongoing seasonal agricultural activities is one of the key factors ensuring successful farming and high yields, giving corresponding instructions to the hyakim. As noted, in order to successfully fulfill the tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan to ensure food abundance in the country, maintenance work is being carried out on wheat fields, including mineral fertilization and irrigation. Appropriate measures are being taken to prepare the land for cotton sowing and ensure an organized start to the process. Then, the hyakim of Mary Velayat, B. Orazov, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region. As noted, in line with the President of Turkmenistan’s directives to achieve a high wheat yield in the country, wheat fields are currently being fertilized with mineral fertilizers and irrigated. Additionally, necessary measures are being taken to prepare for cotton sowing and conduct it at a high organizational level. The maintenance of potato and other vegetable crops continues in the region. As part of efforts to transform the country into a blooming garden, preparations for the spring landscaping campaign and the nationwide tree-planting initiative are in progress. Information was also provided on cultural events planned for the National Spring Holiday and the construction of cultural, social, and industrial facilities set to be commissioned this year under the 2022–2028 National Socio-Economic Development Program and the National Rural Program. After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to achieving high agricultural yields and ensuring the coordinated work of all involved structures, giving the hyakim corresponding instructions. The head of state also ordered the monitoring of the implementation of planned projects in the region within the framework of the country's socio-economic development programs. Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhalliev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country. As noted, agricultural maintenance work continues in the wheat fields of the regions in accordance with agronomic norms, including fertilization and irrigation. At the same time, preparations are underway for cotton sowing and its implementation within the established agronomic deadlines. Additionally, in order to increase the production of potatoes, vegetables, and other crops to ensure sufficient supply for the population, planting and maintenance work is ongoing on the country’s farmland. The Deputy Prime Minister also reported on preparations for the spring landscaping campaign and the organization of nationwide tree-planting initiatives aimed at environmental protection and ensuring ecological well-being in the country. Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that agriculture is one of the key sectors of the national economy, ensuring food abundance in the country. Therefore, it is essential to continue developing this sector in line with modern requirements, combining national farming traditions with global best practices in agricultural production.
