On March 4, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working visit to the capital, inspecting the construction progress of the International Pediatric Center, which will enhance the country’s healthcare infrastructure. Currently, at the state level, special importance is attached to the construction of modern medical facilities and the reconstruction of existing ones. This is a clear testament to the successful implementation, under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, of large-scale reforms in this sector, initiated by the doctor Arkadag, as well as the fact that strengthening the health of every citizen is one of the priority directions of state policy. In the southern part of the capital, a complex of medical facilities has been built in accordance with international standards and modern requirements, equipped with cutting-edge global technologies and equipment. The International Pediatric Center will hold a significant place in this lineup, with its foundation-laying ceremony attended by the doctor Arkadag in March 2023. In the morning, Hero-Arkadag arrived at the construction site of the International Pediatric Center, located in the capital and designed for 160 beds, where construction is in full swing. Here, Hero-Arkadag, noting the importance of the ongoing efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow on the capital’s roads, instructed the mayor of Ashgabat to take appropriate measures to facilitate the unimpeded movement of specialized ambulances. The adoption of a new version of the State Program "Saglyk," developed through the efforts of the Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medical and Economic Sciences, Professor, author of fundamental scientific works, doctor Arkadag, and now consistently implemented under the leadership of the President of the country, allows the national healthcare system to reach the level of global standards, improving the quality and expanding the range of medical services provided to the population. Here, the doctor Arkadag reviewed the architectural features of the buildings of this modern medical facility, the equipment of its departments, the interior and exterior design of the Center, as well as the types of construction materials used. The projects reflect the landscaping of the adjacent territories and the types of fencing. All of this should harmonize with the architectural appearance of the capital. The General Director of the Directorate of International Medical Centers of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country, S. Annaniyazova, reported on the progress of the construction of the International Pediatric Center buildings, the departments that will be housed in them, their equipping with various technologies, and the finishing materials used. As noted, the construction of the Medical Center harmoniously combines the best traditions of national architecture with advanced global practices. The Center’s departments will be equipped with the most modern medical equipment from leading global manufacturers. It is worth mentioning that several medical devices will be installed here for the first time not only in the country but also in the region. At the same time, the use of artificial intelligence capabilities in the new Center will ensure a high level of medical services. Due attention is also paid to the development of doctors’ professionalism. The doctor Arkadag, having reviewed the projects, the types and unique characteristics of the equipment planned for installation in the International Pediatric Center, as well as samples of the interior and exterior finishing of the buildings, provided valuable recommendations regarding the specifics of the equipment. Continuing, the doctor Arkadag stated that the new Center is a cutting-edge medical facility with a long-term perspective and emphasized the importance of proper qualifications for the doctors who will work with equipment being introduced in the region for the first time. In recent years, significant state-level importance has been placed on strengthening the material and technical base of the healthcare system, including medical institutions, training high-level specialists, and enhancing preventive measures aimed at maintaining people’s health. For these purposes, a comprehensive approach is applied to the durability of construction materials and their compliance with modern requirements, as well as to the specifics of building decor. The main tasks currently outlined include instilling the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society, developing mass physical culture and sports, and widely involving the population, especially youth, in this movement. This is crucial for strengthening human health and ensuring the harmonious development of the younger generation. Speaking on this, the doctor Arkadag emphasized the consistent continuation of the ongoing efforts. As noted, the International Pediatric Center will place special emphasis on the level of training of doctors who will work in fields such as neurology, endocrinology, orthopedics, allergology, and pediatric diseases. State-of-the-art equipment will be installed in the endoscopy, functional and radiation diagnostics, microbiology and bacteriology, psychiatry, audiology, endocrinology, hematology, pathohistology laboratories, and operating rooms. The equipment for the laboratory departments of the new Center is characterized by rapid diagnostics—within an hour—of any childhood diseases and the delivery of necessary results. The doctor Arkadag noted that great importance should be attached to color harmony in the Center’s premises. Considering that this medical institution is intended for children, Hero-Arkadag emphasized a color palette that, along with the building’s decorative features, should attract children’s attention and create a pleasant impression on them. Arkadag stressed the need to actively use modern practices in this area and provided valuable recommendations and guidance based on his extensive experience. Reports were also given on the materials used in construction, the specifics of the interior and exterior finishing of the building, the layout of the Center’s parking areas, and the types of modern medical equipment to be installed in the departments. As noted, digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities will be effectively utilized here, ensuring a high level of medical services and reducing the time required for diagnosis and treatment. The doctor Arkadag noted that the construction of healthcare facilities in the country, including the capital, is of great importance. This is a clear testament to the successful implementation of the new version of the State Program "Saglyk" through the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan and its positive results in protecting people’s health, including the younger generation, and preventing diseases. The active introduction of innovative technologies and advanced equipment from globally renowned companies, a broad network of modern healthcare institutions, and the training of specialists in the world’s leading centers enable the provision of high-level medical services in a short time, increase the average life expectancy of the population, and simultaneously contribute to the harmonious development of children. Noting that the health of the people is not only the country’s greatest wealth but also a solid foundation for the bright future of the current and future generations, Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that the modern Center will serve our people for many years to come. Continuing, the doctor Arkadag emphasized the need to coordinate the economic operations of the medical centers being built in this picturesque corner of the capital with the city administration. At the same time, the construction of the new Center and its economic structure must remain under constant oversight. Then, the mayor of Ashgabat, R. Gandymov, reported on the progress of work at the site, where a complex of modern healthcare institutions has been formed, as well as on measures to improve the surrounding areas and extensive efforts to maintain ecological well-being in the capital. After hearing the report, Hero-Arkadag said that this beautiful corner of Ashgabat has become an independent town. The roads and gardens of this health-focused town create a special atmosphere. It was emphasized that unobstructed access to the medical center must be ensured on the roads. The timely and high-quality implementation of the International Pediatric Center construction project will enhance the level and quality of children’s treatment. This demonstrates that caring for the younger generation is one of the key directions of state policy. As Hero-Arkadag noted, the foundation of the activities in this sphere is the care for the harmonious development and upbringing of a generation devoted to the Motherland and industrious—our future—and he emphasized the need to make every effort for effective work in this direction. Hero-Arkadag, wishing everyone success in the noble cause of protecting people’s health—the country’s most valuable asset—departed from the site. Source: State News Agency of Turkmenistan
