The President Familiarized Himself with the Ongoing Work in the Country’s Agro-Industrial Complex
On March 3, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhalliev and the hyakims of the velayats, during which issues related to the progress of work in the agricultural sector and regions of the country were discussed. The floor was first given to the hyakim of Ahal Velayat, T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the pace of agricultural campaigns in the region. As noted, in line with the tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan to increase agricultural production, seasonal activities continue in the velayat. In the velayat’s wheat fields, mineral fertilizers are being applied, and irrigation is being carried out in accordance with agro-technical standards. Necessary steps are being taken to ensure the organized start and proper execution of the cotton sowing season, including preparations of land plots and high-quality cotton seeds. Additionally, relevant measures are being implemented for the timely planting of potatoes and vegetable crops according to agro-technical schedules. Reports were also provided on preparations for upcoming cultural events dedicated to International Women's Day on March 8, as well as the pace of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled for inauguration this year as part of the National Rural Program. After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the organized implementation of current agricultural activities within agro-technical timelines is a crucial condition for achieving high agricultural yields. In this regard, he assigned specific tasks to the hyakim. The Head of State also instructed that the quality and deadlines for the planned tasks within the country’s socio-economic development programs be strictly monitored. Next, the hyakim of Balkan Velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region. As noted, maintenance and irrigation continue in the velayat’s wheat fields. Measures are being taken to prepare high-quality seeds for cotton producers ahead of the upcoming sowing season. Efforts are also being made to prepare fields and vegetable crop seeds for the season, as well as to complete the planting of potatoes and onions within the established timeframe. Information was provided on the preparations for celebrating International Women's Day in the velayat, as well as the progress of construction on social and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year. After hearing the report, the Head of State emphasized the importance of adhering to agro-technical norms as a guarantee of high-quality production and instructed that seasonal agricultural work in the region’s fields be carried out properly. The President also tasked the hyakim with maintaining control over the quality and timely implementation of tasks planned for this year within the framework of the National Rural Program. The hyakim of Dashoguz Velayat, D. Babaev, then reported on the state of affairs in the region’s fields. As noted, in line with the tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan for the comprehensive development of the agricultural sector and strengthening the country's food security, seasonal work continues in the region’s agricultural lands. Maintenance of wheat crops is being carried out according to agro-technical standards, including mineral fertilization and irrigation. Currently, as part of preparations for cotton sowing, land leveling, planning, and soil flushing irrigation are being conducted. Sufficient high-quality seeds adapted to the region’s soil and climatic conditions have been prepared for agricultural producers. Additionally, onion planting has begun in the velayat. Reports were also provided on preparations for the upcoming celebrations for International Women's Day and the progress of construction on social, cultural, and industrial facilities planned for commissioning this year as part of the country’s socio-economic development programs. After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of high-quality and organized agro-technical measures and assigned specific tasks to the hyakim in this regard. The Head of State also instructed to ensure proper and timely implementation of the planned work in the velayat this year in accordance with the country’s 2022–2028 Socio-Economic Development Program and the National Rural Program. Next, the hyakim of Lebap Velayat, M. Annanepesov, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region. As noted, to ensure a rich wheat harvest this year, additional fertilization and irrigation are being carried out in the velayat’s fields. Land leveling and planning are being conducted in cotton fields, with soil flushing irrigation in its final stages, along with the preparation of high-quality seeds for agricultural producers. At the same time, the region is finalizing the planting of potatoes and onions. Information was provided on preparations for International Women's Day celebrations in the velayat and the progress of construction on cultural, social, and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year as part of the President of Turkmenistan’s 2022–2028 Socio-Economic Development Program and the National Rural Program. Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for strict adherence to agro-technical norms in seasonal agricultural activities and assigned specific tasks to the hyakim in this regard. The Head of State also instructed that the quality and timely completion of work on facilities planned for commissioning in the velayat this year be monitored in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs. Next, the hyakim of Mary Velayat, B. Orazov, reported on the progress of the current seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region. As reported, in order to achieve a rich harvest this year, wheat crop maintenance continues in the fields in accordance with agro-technical standards. As part of preparations for cotton sowing, land leveling, planning, soil flushing irrigation, and the preparation of high-quality seeds for producers are being carried out. Additionally, appropriate measures are being taken to ensure the timely sowing of potatoes and other vegetable crops in the velayat, as well as the proper preparation of fields and seeds for planting. Furthermore, information was provided on preparations for festive events dedicated to International Women's Day, as well as the progress of construction on social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year in accordance with the President of Turkmenistan’s 2022–2028 Socio-Economic Development Program and the National Rural Program. Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of conducting current agricultural activities at a high organizational level and issued specific instructions to the hyakim in this regard. The Head of State also stressed the need for the timely and high-quality implementation of tasks outlined in the country’s socio-economic development programs and ordered that their execution be kept under control. Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhalliev reported on the state of affairs in the agricultural sector. As reported, in order to successfully fulfill the tasks set by the President for achieving a rich harvest this year, wheat fields in the velayats are being fertilized and irrigated in accordance with agro-technical norms. Measures are also being taken to prepare land and high-quality seeds for cotton sowing. To ensure the population’s supply of domestically produced vegetable crops, preparations continue for the sowing of vegetable crops, along with the planting of potatoes and vegetables. After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for comprehensive measures to successfully implement the set tasks for the agricultural sector’s development, taking into account modern requirements and further strengthening the country’s food security through high yields. In this regard, he assigned corresponding tasks to the Deputy Prime Minister. Addressing the participants of the working meeting, the Head of State underscored the importance of seasonal agricultural campaigns and ordered strict control over soil preparation and flushing irrigation to ensure timely cotton sowing in the regions, the provision of high-quality seeds to producers before the campaign begins, as well as proper wheat care and irrigation in accordance with agro-technical norms.
