The opening ceremony of the monument to Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayuly was held in Ashgabat

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in our country on an official visit, took part in the opening ceremony of the monument to the famous Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayuly. The erection of the monument to the famous Kazakh poet, embodying a unique composition on Astana Street in Ashgabat has become another expression of a new level of cultural and spiritual relations between the two peoples, based on the commonality of cultural, spiritual values and traditions. Holding this event in the year of the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker of the East Mahtumkuli Fragi has acquired a special meaning. As is known, in July this year, during the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the opening ceremony of the monument to Makhtumkuli Fraghi was held in Astana. The installation of the statue of the great sage of the East in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of poet thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi in the year ‘Treasure of Mind of Makhtumkuli Fraghi’ became a vivid evidence of unshakeable friendship and brotherhood of the two peoples.
