​Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan made a working visit to the city of Arkadag

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Honorary Elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working visit to the city of Arkadag, where he held a working meeting with the participation of relevant leaders and reviewed the projects of road and transport infrastructure facilities. At present, the buildings, institutions, and utility facilities built here within the framework of the first phase are functioning properly. This is clear evidence that the state attaches great importance to the successful implementation of tasks such as the wide-scale urban development program, the industrialization of regions, the comprehensive development of the national economy, and ensuring a high level of environmental standards. On June 29, 2023, a historic event took place in our country, inscribed in golden letters in the glorious chronicle of the independent neutral Motherland, confidently moving along the path of creation and development. With the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, grand celebrations were held on the occasion of the opening of the city of Arkadag, which became a bright symbol of the Renaissance era of the new epoch of the powerful state. The construction of this unique city, which has a special legal status of a state-significant city, is a concrete result of the urban development program implemented in the country under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As is known, this major project was planned to be carried out in two phases. Currently, the first phase of development has been completed, within which 336 cultural and utility buildings and structures have been built, and 21 objects have been awarded international certificates. The awarding of the certificate confirming the city's accession to the project "Development of sustainable, green, climate-friendly cities with innovative solutions in the OSCE region" testifies to the successful implementation of the tasks set in this direction. It is noteworthy that the "smart" city is being built in one of the most beautiful corners of our Motherland. The implementation of this grand urban development project on the initiative of Hero-Arkadag is a bright confirmation of the success of the state policy pursued in Turkmenistan, aimed at the comprehensive development of the country, strengthening its economic potential, and improving the living standards of the people. The bold ideas and solutions of the urban development program of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, based on innovative technologies, receive support from the international community. This is a great honor and enhances the pride of our people in the modern unique city of Arkadag, in the noble achievements of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar. As part of the World Smart City Expo 2024, recently held in Seoul (Republic of Korea), the city of Arkadag, being constructed under the constant attention of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, was awarded three special prizes. As is known, following the signed Decree of the head of state, a Turkmen delegation visited Korea to hold meetings with manufacturers of medical supplies necessary for equipping the healthcare institutions of the city of Arkadag and to visit specialized plants. Members of our country's delegation also took part in the award ceremony organized within the framework of the World Exhibition. At this prestigious exhibition, Turkmenistan's exposition was presented, where the "smart" city, built in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag, was given a special place. Visitors were introduced to its capabilities and features. Among the winners at the World Smart City Expo 2024 award ceremony were cities and companies that stood out in specific areas. It is gratifying to note that the new "smart" city of Arkadag became the first awarded among the participants. This momentous event is of historical significance. It is especially proud that the city of Arkadag was the only city to receive the award for "Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Smart Cities." Early in the morning, the National Leader of the Turkmen people arrived in the new city, where he was warmly greeted by the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, D. Orazov, and the Mayor of the city, G. Mammedova, who reported on the construction progress, the projects of industrial complexes planned for construction, and their locations. First, the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag, D. Orazov, congratulated the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty on behalf of the city's residents on the three awards the city of Arkadag received at the World Smart City Expo 2024 in the Republic of Korea and expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag for the opportunities created to participate in the international forum. At the same time, the Chairman noted that, in accordance with the signed Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Turkmenistan delegation visited Seoul on a working visit to participate in the World Exhibition, as well as to hold meetings with Korean manufacturers of medical supplies necessary for the medical cluster of the city of Arkadag and to familiarize themselves with the work of specialized plants. It should be noted that the exhibition included 116 pavilions with representatives from more than 60 countries. As mentioned earlier, at the award ceremony, the "smart" city of Arkadag received three awards: "For Outstanding Achievements in the Field of Smart Cities," as well as in the nominations "Foreign Smart City" and "For Significant Contribution to the World Smart City Expo 2024." In this regard, D. Orazov noted that the new city has already received more than twenty international certificates and awards of world significance thanks to the tremendous efforts of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar and asked the National Leader of the Turkmen people to convey this good news to the President of Turkmenistan. Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, having listened with satisfaction to the report, congratulated the population and leaders of the new city on this joyous event, noting that all of this fills our people with pride for the Motherland. Hero-Arkadag emphasized that he is especially proud of the achievements in all areas of the new city. This is evidence of international recognition of the urban development program implemented in the country in accordance with modern trends. In a short period, a "smart" city, impressive with its uniqueness, beauty, and modernity, has been created in the magnificent corner of the ancient Turkmen land, located at the foothills of the Kopetdag, thanks to digital capabilities and advanced technologies. This is a clear indicator that the great goals outlined in Turkmenistan are being successfully achieved at a high level. Hero-Arkadag was then shown the projects of various buildings and road transport infrastructure facilities planned for the second phase of the city's development, along with the designs of their decorative interior and exterior elements. These included a modern railway station, a project for the reconstruction of the Ashgabat-Geoktepe highway, along which a road bridge is planned, a trade-service complex, the entrance arch to the village of Yzgant, the "Taychanak" monument located at the intersection of Akhan and Kopetdag avenues, city lighting system projects, and various types of bridge railings. The Honored Architect of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, having reviewed the projects, made the necessary adjustments. In particular, it was noted that an adequate city road lighting system and the compliance of the constructed buildings with the traditions of national architecture are the main requirements for project developers and builders. In this regard, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the new buildings and industrial facilities should harmoniously fit into the architectural image of the "smart" city, while great importance should be attached to its ecology and the peculiarities of the location of the facilities, and he gave a number of instructions. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that the innovative project should be approached comprehensively and thoughtfully. Emphasis was placed on the fact that when constructing road transport infrastructure facilities and industrial complexes of various purposes, special attention should be paid to preserving the natural features and ensuring the favorable environmental level of the area. The construction of the city of Arkadag and its transformation into a model city equipped with advanced technologies is a vivid result of the realization of the great goals of the independence era. The new city serves as an example of the harmonious combination of the principles of national architecture and modern urban planning trends, achieving great success in this area. Then, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of the Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, D. Orazov, and the Mayor of the city of Arkadag, G. Mammedova. D. Orazov reported on the ongoing work within the second phase of the city's construction, the tasks set in this area, and also informed about the results of the working trip to the Republic of Korea. Noting that the construction of the new city must combine the world's advanced experience and scientific achievements in accordance with modern environmental requirements and urban development programs, Hero-Arkadag emphasized that the architectural features of the "smart" city in all respects must meet the requirements of the time. At the same time, great importance should be given to the use of innovative technologies. In this regard, the introduction of bold ideas and developments based on innovation into urban planning and their implementation deserve high praise at the international level. This enhances the pride of our people in the "smart" city of Arkadag, which in all respects meets high international standards. During the working meeting, the Mayor of the city of Arkadag, G.
