Entrance Examinations Begin in Turkmenistan's Universities
On July 31, entrance examinations began in higher education institutions in Turkmenistan for applicants seeking to enroll in specialist and bachelor's degree programs. From July 15 to 28, during the 2024 admissions campaign, documents were successfully received from those wishing to join the ranks of university students in the country. Entrance exams will be held for applicants from the capital, Arkadag city, and the country's velayats (regions) on specially appointed dates, and will conclude in the third decade of August. The exams are conducted directly in the higher education institutions of Turkmenistan. For young people aiming to enroll in master's programs, entrance examinations will start in universities as early as this week. The admissions campaign in the country is being conducted at a high organizational level. The State Commission, which provides organizational and methodological guidance for university admissions, is ensuring the process is carried out in an orderly manner. As previously reported, following an annual tradition, the list of specializations offered by universities in the country has been updated this year. In the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year, seven universities in the country are launching 12 new training programs for specialist, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Along with the increase in the number of specializations, the intake of students into the country's higher education institutions has also grown. For the new academic year, it is planned to admit 15,926 students, 303 more than last year. Of these, 15,303 students will be enrolled in specialist and bachelor's programs, and another 623 in master's programs. On July 12, during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the head of state wished success to young Turkmen citizens aspiring to pursue higher education and outlined a number of priority tasks for representatives of the education sector. These include admitting talented and deserving young people to universities and ensuring that entrance exams are conducted in an organized and fair manner.
