Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Participates in Inauguration Ceremony of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran
On July 30, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and the Chairman of the Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation from the Turkmen side, R. Meredov, made a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. He participated in the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was received by the President of Iran, to whom he conveyed congratulations and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on the occasion of assuming the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In response, the President of Iran sent warm greetings to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, acknowledging their significant contributions to the strengthening and comprehensive development of bilateral cooperation in mutual interests. Currently, Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran are closely cooperating in various fields. In particular, President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the further strengthening of previously reached agreements on partnership in the fuel and energy sector, electric power industry, and transport and transit areas. He praised Turkmenistan for its important initiatives in these areas, implementing projects of global significance. During the meeting, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction that the constructive dialogue established between the two countries is successfully developing both bilaterally and multilaterally, within the framework of international organizations. Recently, there has been a dynamic increase in interaction between the two countries in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, enriched with qualitatively new content.
