President of Turkmenistan Receives Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan, Nurlan Nogayev, who presented his credentials to the head of state. Expressing gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings from the leader of the fraternal state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the President of the country and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Tokayev places great importance on strengthening the traditional ties of friendship with independent and neutral Turkmenistan. Thanking for the kind words and congratulating Nurlan Nogayev on his appointment to the responsible post, the head of state conveyed his best wishes to the highest leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was noted that today the friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two states are of a long-term and strategic nature. There was then a thorough exchange of views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the envoy expressed satisfaction that, based on shared cultural and historical values, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have formed a solid foundation for cooperation, which in the modern era serves as a model of interstate partnership. Special emphasis was placed on the positive nature of cooperation between the two countries within authoritative international and regional structures, such as the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Economic Cooperation Organization, and within the CIS space. The successful coordination of efforts on the platform of regional mechanisms, particularly the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State and the new cooperation format "Central Asia Plus," was noted. During the discussion of trade and economic relations, the head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's interest in further developing interaction in this direction. Highlighting energy and transport as promising vectors, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and the diplomat unanimously agreed that the vast natural resources and favorable geographical features of the two countries create opportunities for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in these areas. Furthermore, the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized. In this context, the head of Turkmenistan noted that this year the country is widely celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi. The establishment of a sculpture dedicated to the famous Kazakh composer and musician Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly in the recently opened Makhtumkuli Fraghi cultural park complex in Ashgabat was also mentioned. The meeting also highlighted that one of the indicators of the dynamically developing relations in this sphere is the regularly organized joint creative forums. It was noted with satisfaction that the Days of Turkmen Culture were successfully held in Kazakhstan from June 25-27 this year, and on July 4, within the framework of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to Astana, a monument to the Turkmen poet-thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi was ceremoniously opened. All this serves as a vivid confirmation of the mutual aspiration to enhance cultural and humanitarian cooperation between our peoples, noted President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Once again expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting and wishing success in his work as the head of the diplomatic mission of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan, Nurlan Nogayev assured the head of state that he would contribute to the further development of traditionally friendly relations and the comprehensive expansion of fruitful cooperation.
